Calling All Hookers! (I’m Talking About Crocheters, Get Your Mind Out Of The Gutter!)

Happy Hump Day!

My goodness this week is flying right by. I apologize for the lack of a post yesterday. It was a very busy day and then all of a sudden I looked at the clock and it was 10 pm! It was one of those ‘ooooops’ moments when I realized I’d forgotten all about the blog!

We’ve had LOTS going on with the sale it’s been awesome! For those of you who don’t know for this week only everything in Our Shop is 25% off when you use the code HAPPYBIRTHDAY at check out! No minimum purchase required. The sale ends Sunday so be sure to stock up!

Today I actually want to draw your attention to an awesome fundraiser being hosted by The Crochet Crowd. The proceeds go to Crafting For A Cure, a nonprofit helping children get through hospital stays by providing crafting activities and beautiful spaces.

Here is how us Happy Hookers can help! From now through October 20th, 2013 the Crochet Crowd is compiling under-the-sea themed items for their Crochet-arium! They are designing a 20×30 foot space to be filled to the brim with items. All of the proceeds got to Crafting For A Cure. For each person that submits 5 items or more you are entered in a drawing to receive an awesome prize but the prize is secondary to all the children you’d be helping.

This is a great way to use up some scrap yarn and get creative!

A Few Ideas I’ve Come Up With:

  • Jellyfish
  • Finding Nemo Characters
  • Stingrays
  • Sharks
  • Corals
  • Submarines
  • Crabs
  • Shrimp
  • Eels
  • Scuba Divers
  • Colorful Fish
  • Whales
  • Seahorses

Please keep in mind that these need to be items you would be proud to gift to someone. Many of these will likely go to children so keep that in mind as well.

You can check out all the details HERE and HERE.

Happy Hooking all! I can’t wait to get started on mine once Miss Amelia’s blanket is done. (Update on that this Friday, which is also her due date.)

Be back tomorrow with some fun happenings and upcoming appearances.

Have a great day!

***PLEASE NOTE: The images in this post are not mine. They were found via Google Images under searches for “fish amigurumi” and “ocean amigurumi”.  The Images are meant for inspiration only and I do not take any credit for the work. They are just fun and beautiful images.***
